Wink Trophies!

This could very well (to some people) be the most stupid suggestion ever made, and there are probably plenty of people who could care less about something like this, but in my eyes it would be pretty cool. Feel free to bash down any points and give as much constructive criticism as you will. I won’t pee my pants if this topic fills up with ‘/not signed’ & ‘I hate it” remarks.

I will call it “Trophies”, as the topic’s title states.

There have been countless suggestions for stats screens that would show how many times you killed so-and-so, and other great suggestions of the sort, so I won’t at all take credit for those great ideas.

What I am suggesting here is a little bit more, and would probably be a bit bigger of an update.

I figured sine this game is pretty much all about killing, it would be quite appropriate to wish for a “Trophy Screen”.

As you can see it could show up as a little button next to the Trade button. Here you will have the option to open another characters “trophy screen” and view his/her acquired trophies. An example of what this screen could look like would be here:

For you own characters you would hit “H” which would take you to your Hero screen, and that would give you a tab called “Trophies” Under Trophies you would have the option (similar to the titles tab) to check or uncheck the Trophies viewable to other characters (maybe a maximum of 10 or something). This tab would show you all the different characters you’ve killed (as of the update) and how many of each you’ve killed.

I’m not done yet… There is of course a little more I’d like to add:

- - - New Enemies, maybe ones specific to gaining trophies. I thought it would be awesome if there were enemies that would be so rare that it might take a while of playing through missions before you ever ran across one. They would randomly spawn, and their location would be random, and where they traveled wouldn’t be limited. They could even have a set of their own skills to make them different from other enemies. I’m not suggesting they have any special drops, but I’m also not apposed to it.
- I also think it would be awesome if these rare monsters weren’t all the same “in this aspect”… once you find one, all you have to do it work on killing it. It would be great if there were a few or so that were skittish. Meaning they would run at the sight of you. Maybe they would even have a larger range of sight. This would require your team to use different skills to trap him. There are also other attributes I thought of when writing this, but my brain fart just took over.

- - - A new land specific to hunting. There could be an area where there are not specific mobs or specific locations of enemies, but it would be totally random, and the enemies would roam free, and maybe even occasionally fight each other. This would be an area you would trek out into in search of that rare trophy you long to win. Not an area that is part of any missions, but maybe an area with quests and such.

- - - This might be a far fetched idea but, as a little added quirk, I think it would to appropriate to have physical wearable head mounts (masks). Say for example, for the 20 or so rare enemies in the game, once you kill one of them a certain number of times (ex. 20) you will obtain his mask that you could sport around, that would be customized to you.

- - - And last but not least… New titles could be implemented.

That’s really all I could think of for now. But, It’s a start anyway.

Anyways i'll bump this for now, to see if more people see it, and maybe later i'l expound on it, cause i still think it would be awesome... maybe i just need to spice it up a little

Ice Golem is nothing worth getting a trophy for, can't you just limit it to bosses?

well... ice golem was just an example. It really could just be bosses, but I think it would be fun to see what people spend most their time killing.

ya, I would love for it to include monsters we have killed previously, but I really doubt they've been keeping track of these things for us. So, the sooner the better I say.

One thing, 'Trophies' already exist within the game. Not the same trophies as you've photoshopped there, but trophies are the special collector items monsters drop, such as 'Griffon wing; Troll tusk; Keen Oni Claw' So you may want to change the name.

I just called it "Trophies" to get the idea across, and to get people thinking if they liked the idea or not. I could care less what they call it. And, since there aren't too many people that actually refer to those items as trophies, i dont see it being a conflict. The main idea though was to see how people would like the idea of a stat tracker, and the idea of rare monster hunting (not for drops, but for the kill).

Trophies are meant to be shown off to gain renown(haha fable was a fun game)

"Enemies Slain" would fit this perfectly, but make the images smaller or no images at all, just text

One. Huge. Sentence.

Client-side integrating it into the gw.dat file so it can't be tampered with is a solution to lag, btw.

Monster hunter, A title for killing at least one of each diffrent monsters, would also be nice -though it kinda conflicts with skill hunter.
